SEATTLE, June 30, 2003 -- Hotmath, Inc., and CCV Software, Inc. announced today that educators can now purchase licenses for Hotmath's online mathematics homework help for their students through CCV Software. With more than 150,000 monthly users, Hotmath.com is a popular subscription-based Web site providing math homework help that is correlated with middle school and high school textbooks.
Licenses for Hotmath.com allow students to use the website 24 hours per day, seven days per week for homework help. Hotmath.com shows students step-by-step explanations for the actual homework problems in popular math textbooks from middle school math through calculus (odd-numbered problems only). Teachers and schools may now print a license application from the Hotmath.com website and then submit it along with purchase order to CCV Software.
Hotmath.com has converted from being a free site to being a subscription-based site effective August 1, 2003. “We have priced our service to appeal to all schools,“ said Dr. Chuck Grant, Hotmath president. “A teacher license starts at $49 per year for one class, and our largest school license costs $350, providing all students with homework help and reducing the need for expensive tutors.”
“Hotmath has the primary goal of helping under-performing students catch up with their peers, especially unmotivated students or those who struggle with math homework,” said Hotmath vice president Robert Bekes, who is also chair of the Math Department at Santa Clara University.
“We are excited to see innovative education technology products come to market, especially those that can help all students,” said Dr. Catherine Chandler, president of CCV Software. “I am very impressed with the approach taken by Hotmath.”
CCV Software was founded in 1982 and is a leading distributor of education products via catalogs and via the www.cccvsoftware.com Web site.
Hotmath, Inc. was founded in 2000 and is teacher-created, research-based, and is listed by states that identify supplementary math learning resources. For more information, please contact , or call 510-524-5525.
