SAN FRANCISCO, August 1, 2003 -- Hotmath, Inc. announced today that parents and teachers can now purchase licenses for the Hotmath online mathematics homework help service for their children and students through over 100 retail parent-teacher stores nationwide. A Hotmath license is just what students need for back-to-school to reduce their mathematics anxiety and give them the support they need to be successful in their math classes this year. With more than 150,000 monthly users, Hotmath.com is a popular Web site providing math homework help that is correlated with middle school and high school textbooks. In addition to parent-teacher stores, Hotmath also recently announced that licenses are available for teachers through CCV Software.
Hotmath.com shows step-by-step explanations for the actual homework problems in popular math textbooks from middle school math through calculus (odd-numbered problems only). Hotmath.com is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week to help students understand and complete their homework.
"At $29 per year, parents receive incredible value in comparison to the cost of a human tutor," said Hotmath president Chuck Grant. "We are very proud of the help we have been able to provide to so many students."
Over the last school year, Hotmath built a strong base of student and teacher users by allowing them to try and use Hotmath.com free of charge. Word-of-mouth among students and references by teachers to their students quickly resulted in 150,000 users on the site monthly. The free trial period ended yesterday: the site is now subscription-based.
"Hotmath has the primary goal of helping under-performing students, either unmotivated students or those who struggle with math homework," said Hotmath vice president Robert Bekes, who is also chair of the Math Department at Santa Clara University.
"We are excited to see education dealers offering their customers online subscription services,” said Adrienne Watts, Vice President of Marketing of the National School Supply and Equipment Association. “Parent teacher stores are known for offering the full range of education products for parents and teachers."
Hotmath, Inc. was founded in 2000 and is teacher-created, research-based, and is listed by states that identify supplementary math learning resources. For more information, please contact , or call 510-524-5525.
